Spain’s victory feels well-deserved in the end.

Throughout the game, the pendulum swung back and forth, but Spain maintained the majority of possession and had more shots on target. The Netherlands will likely be filled with regret, especially regarding the Van der Gragt handball and the missed opportunities by Beerensteyn. Van Domselaar, who has been outstanding throughout the tournament, once again showcased her skills and did everything possible to help her team advance.
This historic achievement marks Spain’s first-ever entry into the semi-finals. However, they may understandably approach their next match with some apprehension. They will face either Sweden, ranked third in the world by FIFA, or the incredibly strong Japan, who led the tournament in goals scored prior to this round.
A standout moment came from teenager Salma Paralluelo, who scored the winning goal in the 111th minute. With this victory, Spain secures their place in the semi-finals and awaits the outcome of the Japan versus Sweden match.
